Next month, the Miami/Fort Lauderdale LGBT Film Festival (a.k.a. the MiFo LGBT Film Festival) kicks off its Fort Lauderdale edition with seven days of screenings spread out over two consecutive weekends. This year's festival features over 50 films from around the globe as well as special events, parties and appearances by actors, directors, producers. Screenings and events will be held at the Classic Gateway Theatre, 1820 East Sunrise Boulevard; Cinema Paradiso, 503 SE 6th Street; C & I Studios, 541 NW 1st Avenue; Gallery of Amazing Things, 481 S. Federal Highway. Dania Beach; and an elegant Opening Night at the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. Some of the highlighted films include Strike a Pose, a film about the seven young male dancers from Madonna's Truth or Dare film interviewed twenty-five years later; and, King Cobra, a drama about adult film star Brent Corrigan and James Franco's latest cinematic foray into gay subculture also starring Christian Slater, Molly Ringwald and Alicia Silverstone.
